of Winter Fantasy
A 30-year-old has a change of heart when she realizes that the fantasy of acting wasn't what she imagined and revisits the theater program where it all began in Logansport, Indiana. There she follows the 2021 high school's production of Fiddler on the Roof, interviews the people influential in making the program what it is today, and - through it all - remembers why she fell in love with acting in the first place. It's a cathartic, feel-good story about a young woman coming to terms with a dramatic shift in her identity.
Meet the Director
Director Lauren Zehner Ray grew up in Logansport, Indiana. She enjoyed making videos as a kid with her family’s videocamera and roping all her friends to be in them. After graduating High School, she moved to New York City to attend acting school at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she was an actress in t.v. shows and commercials.
In 2020, she premiered her directorial debut and first feature documentary "Welcome to Monterey", which won several awards around the world. Returning to Indiana again, she wanted to document her hometown and its theatre program. This led to a journey of self-discovery, documented in her upcoming film, “Winter Fantasy”.
